EASY EYE SCENE

SOFTWARE: PhotoImpactXL
AUTHOR: Hillie

TITLE: Easy Eye Scene
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner
TOOLS USED: Lasso Tool, Fill
ADDITIONAL FILES: None
Image sites: Search these image library links.

DESCRIPTION: Place a scene within the iris of an eye.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Save often.

1. Open your image of choice. I have used just the eye of my daughter. Save As so you are not working on the original.

2. In the Tool Panel select your Lasso Tool with Snap to edges unchecked, Sensitivity 2, Soft edge 5 and draw (tablet) or click (mouse) your way around the iris area. Double back as shown in the picture below and avoid any highlight in the eye. Double-click inside the shape you've formed to change it into a selection (or click Finish on the Attribute toolbar).

If you want to be able to use the Object Eraser later to modify the selection, right click Convert to object now before filling. Otherwise, simply leave as is.

3. Edit / Fill (Ctrl F) / Image tab and browse to the image you want to fill the eye with. Click Fit the image and OK. I used one of my sunset photos.

4. On the menu bar, go to Selection / None to remove it. Here is my finished eye:

Hubby came along and said, What would happen if you made a mirror image... Well, here it is. Now we know why we're not created symmetrical. Creepy!! Thanks hub :).
