FAQs ABOUT ME & MY ART

    Q. Who are you and what is your art history?
    A. I am a self-taught self-representing Australian artist based in Queensland. Born in The Netherlands and having emigrated to Australia, I have been drawing and painting since little, studied art at school, entered and won competitions for my painting and actively participate in exhibitions in my home town. I am passionate about beauty and translating that into paint and atmosphere on the canvas. After a busy family life, I have decided to branch out and return to painting.

    Q. What do you love to paint most?
    A. I have been drawing and painting horses since I was six. My greatest loves are sunsets, parrots and horses and these are often the subject of my paintings. I love the way painting puts me in a place where all else falls away and body, soul and spirit are one doing the thing I love most.

    Q. Do you do commissions?
    A. I love to paint animals, landscapes, scenery, a special spot you might love and want recorded for posterity. Send me an email to discuss this. Photos can be taken and emailed to me as well and I will keep you up to date on my progress.

    Q. Are prints of your paintings available?
    A. All my paintings are originals. However, if you are interested in a print of a painting, please email me.

    Q. Do you have a studio?
    A. I paint from my home studio which contains my computer, painting tablet for digital art, fine art supplies, oodles of art books and magazines plus easel - with an added bonus, a beautiful view over my garden.

    Q. What media do you use for your painting?
    A. I paint with Professional Artist Acrylic Colour on canvas panels, board or canvases and with Artists Quality Watercolour on 300gsm watercolour paper to prevent buckling. I was painting with oils but had to give it up due to reaction to toxic fumes. I occasionally dabble in pastels and enjoy journalling in willow charcoal and oil pastels.

    Q. Are your paintings framed and ready to hang?
    A. My paintings on panel or mdf board are not framed. Canvas paintings are stretched, wrapped and stapled on a timber frame ready to hang and the paint continues around the sides and they don't need framing. Some of the watercolours are "framed" with acid-free matting and backed with acid-free museum grade foamcore and all you need to do is buy a suitable frame or have it professionally framed.

    Q. How are your paintings wrapped and posted?
    A. Watercolours will be sent to you either flat or rolled, depending on size. Board and canvas acrylics will be sent wrapped securely in bubblewrap and cardboard to prevent intransit damage.

You will also receive a Certificate of Authenticity with every painting bought.

    Q. Is there any discrepancy between the colour of your paintings here and the real life painting?
    A. Please note 100 different computer monitors can show colors 100 different ways. If you have any questions about the colors used in an original, please make sure to email me before bidding or purchasing.

    Q. How big are your paintings?
    A. My watercolour paintings are usually 6 x 8 inches or smaller. However, my acrylics are much bigger and painted on canvas or canvas board. Sizes are available in each listing. Grab them and check them against your hanging space before buying so you will not be disappointed with dimensions.

    Q. Where will I find notices about your art?
    A. Any announcements will be put up on this page.
